Several villains from past Spider-Man movies make an appearance in the over-the-top new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) to follow.
Following the events of Far From Home which saw Peter Parker (Tom Holland) ousted as Spider-Man to the world, No Way Home sees Parker join forces with Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and conjure up a spell that makes everyone in the world forget that particular detail.
The spell is botched, however, and opens up a multiverse of sorts, sending villains from past Spider-Man movies into the fold, all gunning for the web crawler.
We’re talking villains from the pre-MCU Spider-Man days, the likes of Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx’s Electro.
We also see Rhys Ifans’ Lizard and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman, though it’s unsure if these two actors are reprising their roles.
What we don’t see is any sight of previous Spider-Men, namely Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, though it’s almost certain that director Jon Watts is saving them for the final product in what is sure to be an epic team-up of old and new Spider-Men for the film’s climax.
The film looks like a lot of fun and should be the most epic Spider-Man film to date, surely to delight fans.
See it in cinemas from December 15.
