The first teaser trailer for Michael Bay’s Transformers: The Last Knight has just dropped, and it doesn’t look too terrible.
The new teaser trailer doesn’t give much away in terms of the plot, however we do see what appears to be a new planet-killing transformer, as well as a Optimus Prime playing a bad-guy, which leaves a lot of questions open.
It’s a really well-cut trailer that leaves you wanting more, so kudos to Bay and team for getting that one right.
Whether or not the film actually ends up being any good is a different story, as the last couple have been pretty bad.
By this stage the Transformers films appear to be getting made purely as money-making projects, which is fine as they still rake in plenty at the box office.
It’s hard to hate on that fact when the films still put bums in seats, or even complain about the quality of the films, as by now viewers should know what they’re getting themselves into.
Transformers: The Last Knight sees Bay return to the director’s chair for the 5th time with this franchise, and it’s gotten to the point where it seems like there’s no better man for the job (maybe after the 6th or 7th film he should step down?).
Mark Wahlberg is back reprising his role as Cade Yeager from the last film, and he’s joined by Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel, Laura Haddock, Tyrese Gibson and the voice talents of Peter Cullen, Frank Welker, Ken Watanabe and John Goodman amongst others.
The film is due out for release on 23 June 2017 in the USA, check out the trailer below.
