The second official trailer for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World has dropped and it should please fans of the popular animated film series.
Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) becomes the chief of his homeland of Berk, with his trusty dragon companion Toothless by his side.
However, an army threatens to seize their village, forcing Hiccup and Toothless to leave in search for the ‘hidden world’ – i.e. the home of the dragons.
Along the way, an elusive white dragon and potential mate may also threaten to lure Toothless away from his buddy.
The new trailer gives us a good look at what to expect from the story in this third instalment of the popular animated franchise, as well a look at its beautiful animation style.
Its visuals are in tune with what we’ve seen in the last two How to Train Your Dragon films, however, they appear somewhat souped up even more in this one.
The use of lighting seems to have been tweaked for the benefit of the film’s visuals, making for what looks like a level above what we’ve seen in the past films in terms of the animation.
The humour and heartfelt story trend is also back, which makes sense considering the first two films’ director Dean DeBlois is back behind the scenes on directing and screenplay duties.
Joining Baruchel in the voice cast is Cate Blanchett, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Kit Harington, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T. J. Miller, Kristen Wiig and F. Murray Abraham.
The film is due out on 3 January 2019, check out the cool new trailer below!
