Trailer for New Coen Brothers Film ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs trailer

The Coen brothers bring their latest, quirky western film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs to Netflix, featuring an all-star cast.

The new film is an anthology western that follows 6 different events that all centre around the man named Buster Scruggs (Tim Blake Nelson).

The plot specifics aren’t made clear by the film’s trailer, but the Coen brothers’ signature humour and stunning cinematography are on full display.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs features an outstanding cast that includes James Franco, Brendan Gleeson, Liam Neeson, Zoe Kazan, Stephen Root, Tom Waits, and the aforementioned Tim Blake Nelson.

This is the second time the directing duo have tackled a western, with their Oscar-nominated film True Grit (2010) being the first.

Their all-time classic film No Country for Old Men (2007) could be considered a modern western, which would then make this their third go round.

Buster Scruggs doesn’t appear to be anywhere near as dramatic as those filmshowever.

The Coens are coming off the back of their 2016 Oscar-nominated film Hail, Caesar!, and it seems they can simply do no wrong, even in this, their 35th year of making films.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs hits Netflix and select cinemas on 16 November 2018.
