The highly anticipated first trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has dropped, and there’s a lot to get excited about in this upcoming sequel.
Spoilers for Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) to follow.
After the events of Far Frome Home, which saw Peter Parker (Tom Holland) ousted as Spider-Man, No Way Home sees the teen superhero struggling to cope with the world knowing his secret identity.
Peter enlists the help of his new adviser, Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and asks him to cast a spell that would make everyone forget that he is Spider-Man.
A hiccup in the spell causes the MCU’s Multiverse to spawn, bringing with it some iconic villains from former Spider-Man franchise films.
Fans can expect to see the likes of Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, and Alfred Molina reprise their roles as The Green Goblin, Electro, and Dr Octopus from previous films.
Dr Octopus even makes an appearance in the trailer, which should leave fans excited for what’s to come.
Noticeably, there’s no footage of any previous Spider-Men in the trailer; however, former web-crawlers Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are expected to appear in the film as part of the Multiverse storyline set to run throughout the next phase of MCU films.
Spider-Man series regulars Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, and Marisa Tomei also reprise their roles.
The film is directed by Jon Watts and is due out in cinemas on Boxing Day.
