‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ – 2nd Trailer and New Posters

spider-man homecoming 2nd trailer

The 2nd trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming features more footage of the web-crawling hero, along with a better look at Michael Keaton’s lead villain.

Tom Holland plays Spider-Man in this latest iteration of the character originally made famous on the big screen by Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi’s 2002 smash-hit Spider-Man.

Homecoming appears to follow a lot of similar themes brought about in the past films that have featured the character, but with the inclusion of Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Iron Man from the Avengers films, and a couple of new villains.

Homecoming is a unique entry in the series of films featuring Spider-Man, as it’s the first time Sony (who own the rights to Spider-Man) have teamed up with Marvel Studios to allow characters from both properties to appear in the same film (Marvel Studios owns the rights to Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers).

Based on this new trailer, the film looks like it will be full of action and some light-hearted humour, which is all to be expected.

Michael Keaton takes lead villain duties in this one as The Vulture, with Bokeem Woodbine joining him in what may be a secondary villain role as Shocker.

Keaton looks in form with his performance in this role based on the little we can see of him in the trailer, however his character seems to have fairly typical motivations to do evil – though it’s still too early to make a judgement on that.

It looks Spider-Man: Homecoming will be a nice new take on the character and should be a fun film overall.

It’s directed by Jon Watts and releases across Australian cinemas on 6 July 2017.
