Director Jacques Audiard’s latest film The Sisters Brothers features an all-star cast in this irreverent take on the classic Western genre film.
The infamous outlaws The Sisters Brothers, Charlie and Eli Sisters (Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly), set out to pursue Hermann Kermit Warm (Riz Ahmed), the gold prospector who’s discovered a formula for finding gold much faster, while dealing with their own brotherly issues in an amusing manner.
The film is based on the novel by Canadian novelist and screenwriter Patrick DeWitt, and comes to us from the director of Rust and Bone (2012) and A Prophet (2009), both of which were astounding films.
The Sisters Brothers features a fairly basic plot, however its quirky characters appear to be the heart and soul of this film, and the humour is on point judging by this first trailer.
The somewhat unusual pairing of Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly seems to work really well, and you can already see they have some great chemistry.
Jake Gyllenhaal rounds out the superb principal cast of The Sisters Brothers, and the film is due for release in the American Fall of 2018.
