Marvel Studios has dropped the first teaser trailer for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and it looks refreshing.
Refreshing in the sense that there are none of the familiar Avengers characters we’ve become used to seeing over the last ten years featured in this one.
Instead, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings sees an all-new superhero and an all-new cast of characters enter the MCU fold.
Simu Liu plays Shang-Chi, a kung-fu master drawn into the mysterious world of the Ten Rings organisation.
There aren’t any details about the film’s plot in the first teaser trailer below, other than its basic premise and a whole lot of awesome martial arts movie action.
Marvel’s signature style is all over the film, too, as expected, but other than that, it feels like a breath of fresh air seeing these new characters.
Martial arts movie fans will be especially delighted to see that the film features some epic action and fight choreography, all set on a stunning, rich backdrop.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings features a supporting cast that includes Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Florian Munteanu and Ronny Chieng.
It’s due to hit cinemas on 2 September 2021.
