Max (Patton Oswalt) meets some colourful characters at the vet in this first teaser trailer for The Secret Life of Pets 2.
The Jack Russell Terrier, Max, gets taken to the vet where he encounters several animals with behavioural disorders in the first teaser for The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Pets 2 is the sequel to Illumination Entertainment’s smash hit The Secret Life of Pets from 2016.
Illumination is the studio behind the Despicable Me (2010-) and Minions (2015-) franchises, and based on the success of those IP’s, are sitting right up there with the likes of powerhouse studio Pixar in the hearts of kids around the world.
The Secret Life of Pets series is just another in their money-printing lineup, with the first film earning $875 million (approx) on a $75 million budget.
Most of the first film’s cast will be reprising their roles in the upcoming sequel, with the likes of Kevin Hart, Eric Stonestreet and Lake Bell returning.
Infamously, Louis C.K., who voiced max in the first film is replaced by Patton Oswalt here, after C.K.’s troubles of late.
New cast members will include Tiffany Haddish, Nick Kroll, Harrison Ford, and Pete Holmes.
Illumination regular collaborator Chris Renaud returns to direct.
This first teaser doesn’t give anything away plot-wise but does feature some clever humour which should please fans of the first film.
It’s due for release on 20 June 2019.
