Check out the third and likely last trailer for the highly anticipated film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, starring Felicity Jones and Ben Mendelsohn.
This final trailer is basically ‘The plot of Rogue One for Dummies’ as we see Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and her band of rebels tasked with the mission to steal the plans of the Empire’s planet-killing machine, The Death Star.
The good news is that the trailer’s accompanied by some gorgeous visuals, which has been a recurring theme with all the trailers for the film to date.
Rogue One sits in between Episode 3 and Episode 4 in the Star Wars universe timeline but is essentially a standalone film.
It features a diverse cast of characters that make up Erso’s crew, played by Diego Luna, Donnie Yen, Forest Whitaker, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed and Alan Tudyk – basically an actor from every background you can think of.
The film also stars Australia’s own Ben Mendelsohn in a lead-villain role, which is great news for the actor as he’ll get a lot of well-deserved exposure across the globe.
Rogue One is directed by Gareth Edwards, who’s best known for directing 2014’s Godzilla.
I wasn’t a big fan of that film which would normally be a cause of concern to me; giving him the job of directing a film in one of the most popular film universes, however judging by the trailers I’ve seen as well as some behind-the-scenes footage (and the Disney powers that be breathing down his neck), it looks like he’s on the ball with Rogue One.
It hits Australian cinemas on 15 December 2016 and you can purchase tickets from your local cinema starting from today.
