Rob Zombie’s ’31’ Gets Local Release Date

rob

Horror fans need not have to wait much longer to catch Rob Zombie’s latest film, 31.

Zombie’s latest will get a limited run in Australian cinemas on October 31, aka Halloween (surprise, surprise).

31 follows a group of carnival workers forced to play in a game-of-death called 31, against a group of sadistic, murdering clowns.

If that isn’t nightmare material then I don’t know what is, and especially when the material is in the hands of Rob Zombie.

His films are known for their disturbing elements (see House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects), so a film with a carnival theme featuring murderous clowns is like a match made in heaven (or possibly hell in this instance) for the director.

The only issue with Zombie’s work is that it can be a bit hit-and-miss, for instance his Halloween remakes and The Lords of Salem were average at best.

One thing that you can be sure of though is the director’s unique vision for his material, which always at least looks terrifying on the surface.

31 has been receiving mostly negative reviews thus far, however with any film in the horror genre, I strongly recommend you reserve judgement until seeing it for yourself when it releases this Halloween.
