Last week we brought you the trailer for the Nicolas Cage revenge thriller A Score to Settle and this week, we have another Cage classic sure to find its way straight to DVD soon after its cinematic release.
Running with the Devil deals in the murky world of drug cartels and stars not only the great man Cage but heavy hitter Laurence Fishburne, along with the underrated Barry Pepper.
Cage’s ‘The Cook’ must team up with Fishburne’s ‘The Man’ to audit a cartel’s cocaine supply chain at the behest of Pepper’s, ‘The Boss’, after some irregularities.
With Federal Agents on their trail, Cage and Fishburne are racing against time to find out where the problem lies as they encounter rival gangsters, couriers, growers and other assorted characters.
Cage is in dad-mode with his daggy glasses and dishevelled look while Fishburne is rocking flashy suits and smoking cigars in the latest from writer/director Jason Cabell.
The extended cast is quite impressive, with Adam Goldberg, Clifton Collins Jr., Peter Facinelli, Natalia Reyes and a personal favourite, Cole Hauser, all involved.
This looks like Cage acting for another payday, but the ensemble cast is enough to keep me interested.
Running with the Devil hits theatres on 20 September 2019.
