The new look Sonic the Hedgehog has arrived in the latest trailer for the upcoming movie based on the popular video game of the same name.
The producers listened and come a few months later, we get a new look at the redesigned Sonic in the latest trailer for the film below.
The new design looks much closer to the original look of the character from the popular Sega video game, and the new design should keep fans of the property happy.
In the film, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) arrives on Earth and is immediately sought after by the military, and especially the evil Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey).
Sonic makes a new friend in Tom (James Marsden), and the two of them join forces and go on an adventure to stop Dr. Robotnik’s plans for world domination.
The film is a cross between live-action and animation and is essentially a buddy-movie, suitable for all ages.
The new trailer gives us a good look at the characters and features plenty of action and humour, while also showcasing Sonic’s speedy powers.
Movies based on video games have always generally been cursed when it comes to quality and Sonic is also at risk of that same fate just if history is anything to go by.
Despite that, the film looks like a lot of fun and Jim Carrey appears to be in top form, so we could be in for somewhat of a treat with this one.
Find out when the film drops on 2 April 2020.
