‘Nerve’ – Trailer

nerve

Check out the trailer for the upcoming techno-thriller film Nerve, starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts, directed by the duo that did Catfish.

This film looks like what it would be like if The Hunger Games were set in the modern day.

Everyone’s lives seem to revolve around the internet and online forms of entertainment, and it appears Nerve will exploit that in it’s plot about a new truth-or-dare style game where participants are tasked to complete a dare of some kind (for a reward), while the internet watches on.

As you’ll see in the trailer though, there can be dangerous consequences.

Nerve does look kind of interesting and it’s always good to see a film cover a topic so relevant to the present day, and it may very well reveal to us just how absurd things have gotten with where technology and the online space is at, or heading towards.

The film stars Dave Franco and Emma Roberts in the lead roles and is directed by the duo of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, who directed the scary documentary Catfish in 2010.

If anyone hasn’t seen Catfish yet, they should, but be warned it may make you think twice about your next Facebook interaction.

Nerve is due for release in late July in the USA.

IMDB Synopsis:

A high school senior finds herself immersed in an online game of truth or dare, where her every move starts to become manipulated by an anonymous community of “watchers.”
