‘The Mummy’ – 2nd Trailer for New Tom Cruise Monster Film

Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Russell Crowe and Annabelle Wallis star in the first Universal Monsters reboot film – The Mummy.

An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened after centuries of being entrapped in her tomb, and now sets to wreak havoc on the modern world.

The 2nd trailer for this film gives us a better look at the film’s plot, but also highlights more of the film’s horror and action.

It’s hard to see this one being any good, though we could still yet be surprised and at the very least, the cast is outstanding.

Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe are both still massive draws in Hollywood, so Universal Pictures have at least done right by getting them on board, and also giving up-and-comers Sofia Boutella and Annabelle Wallis more exposure in a massive studio film like this one.

The Mummy is the first film in a planned series to bring back the famous Universal Monsters, that also include the likes of Frankenstein, Wolfman, Van Helsing and The Invisible Man to name a few.

Those monsters have been around on film for decades now, so it will be interesting to see how their stories are handled in the modern era.

With such an influx of average blockbusters hitting cinemas these days, one thing’s for sure is that Universal has their work cut out for them.

The film is directed by Alex Kurtzman and is due out in Australian cinemas on 9 June 2017.
