Live-Action Disney Film ‘Mulan’ Gets a Stunning First Trailer

The trailer for the live-action Disney movie Mulan has dropped and it promises an epic showcase of action along with a heartfelt story.

A Chinese maiden decides to disguise herself as a man in order to join her nation’s armed forces and save her ageing father from joining the fight against an invading army in Disney’s Mulan.

The film is a live-action adaptation of Disney’s popular animated film of the same name from 1998.

Family and honour are the big themes in this film, highlighting the lengths people will go to to protect their loved ones.

Despite all odds, Mulan (Yifei Liu) courageously pretends to be a man in order to save her father from certain death, an honourable act if ever there was one.

The first official trailer gives us a good look at the film’s plot and introduces us to the characters on both sides.

It features a great cast of predominantly Chinese actors that include Donnie Yen, Jet Li, Li Gong and Jason Scott Lee as the film’s main villain.

It was nice to see Scott Lee here as he’s been missing from the Hollywood circuit for quite some time now, ever since 1993’s Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

In reality, he has been keeping busy, but just hasn’t been in anything notable since then.

The production design on Mulan looks amazing and it appears no expense was spared in making the film look gorgeous, with excellent attention to detail in every frame.

The same can be said for all the other live-action Disney adaptations we’ve seen to date, the likes of Aladdin (2019), The Lion King (2019) and Dumbo (2019)all of which had great production design.

Mulan is due to hit cinemas on 26 March 2020, check out the awesome official first trailer below as well as the film’s new poster.
