johnny english strikes again trailer

Funnyman Rowan Atkinson reprises his role as bumbling British secret agent Johnny English, in this upcoming spoof of the spy genre.

When the identities of all the undercover British agents are revealed, former agent Johnny English is called out of retirement to crack the case.

It’s been 7 years since Atkinson was last seen in this role, and 15 since he first appeared in the role of Johnny English.

Atkinson became a household name after starring in the hilarious comedy TV series Mr. Bean, which ran from 1990 to 1995.

Since then he’s appeared in numerous other films and TV series’, though has been away from the mainstream cinema circuit for a while.

His latest, the third in the series, features the same type of humour you’d expect to see in a film like this, especially if you’re familiar with the earlier films.

Atkinson is excellent at portraying a bumbling fool, and he’s in top form here, as you’ll see in the trailer below.

We’ve seen many a comedy spoofing the spy genre over the years, and it doesn’t look like Johnny English Strikes Again will be bringing anything new to the table, but these movies do make for some lighthearted entertainment, and Atkinson generally always delivers the goods.

The film hits Australian cinemas on 12 October 2018.
