Jennifer Lopez leads the cast of Hustlers, about a group of opportunistic strippers who decide to play the ‘game’ by their own rules for a bit of extra cash.
A group of strippers decide to swindle their Wall Street-type clients out of some serious cash in the new film Hustlers.
The film is based on a true story, adapted from a 2015 New York Magazine article by journalist Jessica Pressler.
The film opens up some questions about the morality of the strippers’ actions, considering their client base are mostly douche-baggy Wall Street types who wouldn’t think twice about swindling their own clients.
Lopez and her crew use their talents of seduction to make some extra money to look after their families (and go shopping) while leaving a path of destruction behind them.
What makes this film intriguing is the fact that it is based on a true story and it features a diverse and impressive cast of actresses and music stars that alongside Lopez include Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo and Cardi B.
The film’s trailer doesn’t really raise the stakes too high for these women, though I’m sure there’ll be some thrilling elements to this story.
Hustlers is directed by Lorene Scafaria and is due in cinemas on 13 September in the USA and on 10 October 2019 in Australia.
