Jennifer Lawrence reunites with her Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence in the upcoming thriller based on the novel of the same name, Red Sparrow.
Lawrence plays Dominika Egorova, a Russian secret intelligence agent that belongs to a group of ‘Sparrows’ – agents that are trained to use their bodies, and sexuality to get the job done.
However, her first mission, to target a CIA agent, could unravel the security of both nations.
The trailer doesn’t reveal much except for a look at the visual style of the film, and features some voice-over narration explaining the situation (as outlined above).
We get to see Lawrence in various scenes from the film, as well as her co-star Joel Edgerton, however it’s all rather mysterious-like, not giving much away.
The trailer is intriguing, but only to a point, as it’s more of a teaser than anything, so it’s hard to get excited about the film at this stage.
Jennifer Lawrence is a superstar though, and one of the best working actors in Hollywood today, so it’s certainly a must-see.
Francis Lawrence, her director in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & 2 (2014-2015) as well as Catching Fire (2013) directs the film, and Jeremy Irons, Mary-Louise Parker and Matthias Schoenaerts also feature.
The film releases on 1 March 2018, check out the trailer below.
