Hunters Become the Hunted in New Trailer for ‘The Hunt’

movie hunters

The hunters become the hunted in a deadly game of humans hunting each other in the upcoming Blumhouse action-thriller, The Hunt.

The film follows twelve strangers who wake up in a clearing, gagged and bound, only to discover that they’re part of a cruel game where they’re being hunted by other humans for sport.

They’ll have to try and survive at all costs, and eventually, turn the tables on the hunters.

The film features a core premise that’s been done many times before, with films like Battle Royale (2000), The Hunger Games (2012), The Running Man (1987) and more recently, Ready or Not (2019) just to name a few.

There doesn’t seem to be much that separates this film from any similarly-themed films that came before it judging by this new trailer, though it does look like a bit of guilty pleasure fun.

The trailer is full of violence, and there’s sure to be a whole lot more in the final product.

The Hunt is directed by Craig Zobel, whose past credits include Z for Zachariah (2015) and the highly underrated thriller Compliance (2012).

Damon Lindelof of TV’s Lost, The Leftovers, and Watchmen fame is a co-writer on the film, so expect there to a fair amount of mystery in the story.

It stars Emma Roberts, Betty Gilpin, Hilary Swank, and Ike Barinholtz and is due out for release on 13 March 2020.
