‘Ghostbusters (2016)’ VFX Reel – Video

Check out this cool VFX reel for the recent Ghostbusters remake to see how some of the effects in the film were made.

The effects in this don’t look bad at all and are brought to us by the Australian visual effects studio Iloura.

The video comes from their official Vimeo page which you can visit here and view some of their other work too.

The studio has done the effects for some great films and TV shows including Mad Max: Fury Road and Game of Thrones, so they’re definitely no slouches when it comes to their work.

Film fans notice when there are bad visual effects in movies, often complaining about the overuse of them, however when done right, the effects often add to the overall experience, especially in this instance, where they gel together nicely with the practical sets.

The effects themselves are fantastical in nature, so there’s no reason to complain that they don’t look real and they certainly suit the overall style of the film.

Ghostbusters recently opened to a reasonably positive reception, currently holding a 73% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average review score of 6.4/10.
