The Escape Room winners from the first film are back for more survival horror action and adventure in Escape Room: Tournament of Champions.
Words on Bathroom Walls (2020) star Taylor Russell, and Logan Miller, reprise their roles as Zoey and Ben from Escape Room (2019), and this time they find themselves trapped in more murderous escape rooms joined by fellow past survivors.
The plot of this horror movie sequel feels like a natural and fun progression following the events of 2019’s first film, even if it’s essentially a rehash of the first film’s story.
The deadly escape rooms were creative and provided for genuinely tense viewing, and it seems like returning director Adam Robitel has captured the same feel for the sequel.
Tournament of Champions will look to further explore the world these characters find themselves in and uncover more details about the persons behind the scenes, placing these young people in precarious situations for their amusement.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions looks like a lot of fun and will surely prove a hit with fans of the first movie.
See it from 1 July 2021 in Australia and shortly after on 16 July in the United States and the UK.
