Circus Magic the Highlight of New Trailer for Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’

circus movies

The new trailer for Tim Burton’s Dumbo adaptation for Disney features the big-eared magical elephant join the circus and find his wings.

Dumbo the elephant is shunned when he’s first born, his enormous ears not making him very aesthetically pleasing to join the circus.

Promoter V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) sees something in him, however, and Dumbo is made a star of the show after being primed by the circus’ fellow performers.

It’s then when it’s discovered that Dumbo has the magical ability of flight.

The new trailer puts the emphasis on the elephant’s entry into the circus and highlights some of the visual flair director Tim Burton is known for in his films.

The film looks like a perfect fit for the once-great director, who’s had a bit of an average run this decade with a string of not-so-great films like Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016) and Dark Shadows (2012).

Despite that, Dumbo could be a return to form for the director considering the classic source material and the highly successful Disney machine looking over his shoulder.

The film features an all-star cast that includes Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito and Alan Arkin alongside Michael Keaton and Eva Green.

It’s due out in cinemas on 28 March 2019.
