Check out the announcement teaser for the upcoming Disney Pixar animated film Cars 3, featuring the voice talent of Owen Wilson in the lead.
The teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the animated film’s plot, so it purely serves to announce that the film is being released.
However it does contain some cool racing footage with what looks to be a serious accident at the end of it.
Owen Wilson reprises his role in this third film in the Cars franchise, as the lead character Lightning McQueen.
The first Cars film was released in 2006 and was met with mostly positive reception, however it’s sequel Cars 2 (2011) was met with a mostly negative reception.
It’s safe to assume that Pixar would have learned from its mistakes after the second film and release something enjoyable with Cars 3.
Cars 3 is directed by Brian Fee who served as a storyboard artist on the first two Cars films and makes his directorial debut here.
The film hits cinemas on 16 June 2017 in the USA.
We’ll post the full trailer once it’s released, however for the meantime check out the first announcement teaser below.
The official synopsis for the film is as follows:
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
