Jared Leto has been confirmed to join the already very impressive cast of Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to the 1982 classic, Blade Runner.
The film, which is scheduled for an October 2017 release also stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis and Dave Bautista.
Ledo rounds out the fantastic cast, in what is said to be a pivotal role.
Ridley Scott’s tech-nor science fiction film Blade Runner became an instant classic after its release back in 1982, with Harrison Ford in the lead role.
The film has spawned a countless number of theses about its meaning, as well multiple versions of the film on home media.
It’s definitely a though provoking film, one where you need to read between the lines, and one that needs to be seen more than once.
It will be interesting to see what Villeneuve does with the followup, though as a director he can be trusted, especially after looking back at his body of work which includes Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario and the upcoming Arrival.
With his vision and the talented cast mentioned above, science-fiction fans should have something to look forward to in the Blade Runner sequel.
