‘Ali’s Wedding’ – Trailer for New Aussie Rom-Com

ali's wedding trailer

Ali’s Wedding is the upcoming Australian romantic comedy film based on a true story from the life of the film’s co-writer and star Osamah Sami.

After Ali (Sami) tells a lie that sets off an unfortunate series of events, he finds himself torn between the woman that he loves and a potential arranged marriage.

The film’s screenplay was written by Sami and Andrew Knight (Hacksaw Ridge, The Water Diviner) and is directed by Australian Jeffrey Walker (Dance Academy, TV’s Modern Family, Rake).

Judging by the trailer, the film looks like it will be full of charm and feature classic Aussie humour with a multicultural twist.

Ali’s Wedding looks like it has all the potential to become a hit, with a universally appealing story that’s targeted to a wide demographic.

Along with that it appears the film will have lots of heart, which is always a bonus when reeling in the crowds.

The film is due to hit the festival circuit across Australia, including the Sydney Film Festival, before getting a nation-wide release.

The film’s upcoming Sydney Film Festival sessions are listed below and are on sale now at sff.org.au:

Thursday 8 June 6:25PM – State Theatre
Friday 9 June 8:15PM – Randwick Ritz
Saturday 10 June 7:30PM – Casula Powerhouse
