Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the rest of the old gang (and some new), set out on an adventure to save the newly created toy, Forky (Tony Hale).
Woody’s owner Bonnie (Madeleine McGraw) creates a new toy, Forky, who appears to be facing somewhat of an existential crisis when he’s separated from the rest of the gang during a family road trip.
Woody, the toy-pack’s leader, takes it upon himself to embark on a journey to find and save Forky.
Along the way, he’ll be reunited with old friend Bo Peep (Annie Potts) and meet some new friends that include Bunny (Jordan Peele) and Ducky (Keegan-Michael Key), as well as the charismatic Duke Caboom, hilariously voiced by Keanu Reeves.
Reeves is the man of the hour at the moment, with his film John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum having recently released to rave reviews.
The actor can do no wrong at the moment so it’s good to see him with a role in this legendary Disney-Pixar franchise.
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are also welcome additions to the cast and should make for some great comedy relief.
The trailer gives us everything fans could possibly be hoping for from a Toy Story film; there’s humour, drama and adventure, with philosophical and moral themes running beneath the surface.
Woody, Buzz, Forky and the rest of the crew hit cinemas on 21 June 2019.
