Warner Bros has released a cool video featurette on the film War Dogs, giving us a deeper look into the story and characters of the film.
The video features the film’s stars, Miles Teller, Jonah Hill and Bradley Cooper, as well as director Todd Phillips talk about how the film came to be and about the characters in the film.
As you’ll see in the Hustling For The American Dream featurette, it appears no expense was spared when it came to the production, with the crew travelling all over the globe to shoot on location, which should definitely make this story that’s based on actual events more authentic.
The official synopsis of the film is as follows:
Based on a true story, WAR DOGS follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami during the first Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a 300 million dollar deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
Being a Todd Phillips film (director of The Hangover trilogy), War Dogs looks like it will be lots of fun and full of humour, but leaning more towards black-comedy as opposed to The Hangover’s silly-comedy approach.
