‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ – IMAX Teaser Trailer

This cool IMAX teaser trailer for the upcoming film Transformers: The Last Knight has given me a new-found respect for director Michael Bay.

It’s easy to hate on Michael Bay and his Transformers films.

Sure, they’re all pretty crap, explosion-fests, but you’ve got to give him credit for sticking to his guns and staying with the franchise for so long, despite all the hate.

Money talks at the end of the day, and these films practically sweat money, so whether or not he would have stayed on with the franchise if they didn’t is anyone’s guess, though he’s definitely had the chance to move on after most of the films were panned by critics and fans.

Anyway, the new-found respect I speak of is in terms to his contribution to the industry over the last 10 years, but more specifically to IMAX technology.

As you’ll see in the video below, it appears Bay had a big hand in optimising the IMAX technology, making it easier for future filmmakers to utilise it, while not skimping out on resolution and quality.

So whether or not you love or hate his Transformers films, or his filmmaking style, you can’t deny the man is a genuine film lover, one that really cares about the overall viewing experience from the audience.

It’s always good to see a passionate filmmaker, and when it comes to Transformers, you can criticise them all you want, but by now we know what we’re getting ourselves into before going to see one, so there really shouldn’t be any complaining.

Transformers: The Last Knight is due for release on 23 June 2017 in the USA.
