The first official trailer for Disney-Pixar’s upcoming animated film Toy Story 4 has dropped, sending the gang on an all-new adventure.
A new toy known as Forky (Tony Hale) joins Woody (Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the rest of the gang on a road trip that will see them discover the world while testing their values and meeting some old friends along the way.
The new animated film follows the trend of cute and meaningful storytelling that made the Toy Story franchise the powerhouse that it is today, twenty-four years after the release of the first film.
All of the film’s regular characters are back, along with some new ones that alongside Forky include Jordan Peele’s Bunny and Keegan-Michael Key’s Ducky.
Fan-favourite Bo Peep (Annie Potts) also makes a return after her appearance in the first two films but sitting out the last one.
Toy Story 4 looks like it will be a lot of fun, featuring some gorgeous animation and a screenplay that will appeal to young and old.
Disney-Pixar can seemingly do no wrong with this franchise, as proven by its two-decade-plus longevity.
The first film set a new benchmark into where animated films can be taken and was a landmark in CGI effects.
Since then, there have been countless copies, but none will ever reach the heights of Toy Story’s legacy in the industry as well as in viewer’s hearts and minds.
See the film in cinemas from 21 June 2019.
