I first fell in love with Taron Egerton (along with the rest of the world, I’m sure) in the film Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014).
In his role as Eggsy, he proves to be an actor capable of flexibility in the sense that he can portray and switch between different character aspects and roles with ease.
For this reason alone, I will definitely be putting Robin Hood on my list of upcoming movies to watch.
The fact that he has a cute face and a charming on-screen personality is simply a bonus.
Robin Hood follows the age-old tale of the bow-and-arrow-wielding vigilante who takes from the rich and gives to the poor.
From the costuming we see in the trailer, it is hard to tell exactly what period the film is set in.
The suit jackets that the men wear and the dresses adorned by the women have a very modern twist, and yet the setting itself looks to be back in medieval times.
It will be interesting to see how director Otto Bathurst ties it all together, and whether the love story threaded throughout will inspire wonder or disappointment.
As a huge action-adventure fan, I am excited to see this film hitting up the big screens later in the year.
Joining Egerton in supporting roles are Jamie Foxx, Ben Mendelsohn, Eve Hewson, Tim Minchin and Jamie Dornan.
The film hits cinemas on 29 November 2018 in Australia, check out the first trailer below.
