The trailer for Escape Plan 2: Hades has dropped, featuring Sylvester Stallone reprising his role from the first film, along with some fresh faces that include Dave Bautista.
Stallone plays Ray Breslin, a security expert who uses his skills to test our the reliability of maximum security prisons – by breaking out of them.
When one of Ray’s specialists is kidnapped and taken to a high-tech prison, Ray must do what he does best – get him self incarcerated and then break out, with his friend in tow.
This is the first sequel to 2013’s Escape Plan, which saw Stallone share the screen with former Hollywood rival Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It was classic B-grade action that featured the two greatest action stars of all time.
The first film was a bit of dumb, entertaining fun and we can be sure to expect more of the same from Escape Plan 2, however with Dave Bautista taking over big-man duties from Schwarzenegger.
The film is directed by Steven C. Miller, who comes from a B-grade action movie directing background, and co-stars Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Jaime King, Jesse Metcalfe, Wes Chatham and Xiaoming Huang.
A third film has been reported to have begun filming in late 2017, so expect to see that some time within the next 12 months or so.
