Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis and James McAvoy star in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming evil-villain team-up movie, Glass.
Following the conclusion of Shyamalan’s last, and standout hit Split (2016), Glass sees Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Price/Mr. Glass (from 2000’s Unbreakable), Bruce Willis’s David Dunn (also from Unbreakable) and James McAvoy’s Kevin Wendell Crumb (among his other multiple personalities from Split) all locked up together in what appears to be a mental asylum.
They’re held there by Sarah Paulson’s Dr. Ellie Staple, who appears to have a ‘cure’ to the mental illness that all these men share – they believe they have superpowers.
Of course, their belief is true, with Dunn’s superhuman strength, Crumb’s half-man-half-beast alter ego ‘The Beast’, and Price’s superhuman intellect.
When Price realises the power behind Crumb’s ‘Beast’ personality, he manipulates him, and Dunn, to help him escape the asylum and go on what appears to be a terrifying anarchic reign.
That’s a lot to absorb for a newbie, however, fans of Shyamalan’s Unbreakable and Split will find this all familiar, as Glass combines the characters from those films as part of a new shared universe.
The new trailer is expertly crafted to divulge just enough of the plot while building excitement in seeing these three characters in a film together.
Unbreakable fans would be very happy especially, as that film went on to become a cult classic.
Split was a return to form for Shyamalan after a string of terrible films, and it looks like he’s on the right pathway with Glass next.
The film is due in cinemas on 17 January 2019.
