‘A Quiet Place’ is the New Horror You Won’t Get Out of Your Head Easily

The new supernatural horror film, A Quiet Place, is the directorial debut of usual funny-guy John Krasinski, who also stars alongside his off-screen wife Emily Blunt.

The film is set to be released in April 2018, but has already created a lot of hype due to its newest trailer taking up a thirty second spot in the recent Super Bowl advertisement line up.

The film stars Emily Blunt and John Krasinski as a couple with two children, played by the talented Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds.

The family find themselves in what may be a post-apocalyptic world, devastated after a war and invasion of some kind.

The family of four seek refuge in an old farming estate, where they hide from an unknown supernatural force or monster, that can hunt them only through sound they make, meaning the film may largely be in silence.

The trailer shows the family living underground and making as little noise as possible to not give the force any clue to their whereabouts, hence the film’s tagline ‘If they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you’.

A Quiet Place seems to be a true psychological thriller and will be worth the watch just to see how John Krasinski tackles directing a genre he is not known for.

A Quiet Place release across Australian cinemas on 12 April 2018.
