The new featurette, ‘Face Your Fears’, for the upcoming movie IT, delves into the story’s background and features some creepy footage from the film.
I had my reservations about this film after seeing the first trailer, as it just all looked a bit silly and not very scary to me at that point.
However, watching this new featurette and seeing some more of the film’s gorgeous photography, as well as it’s disturbing imagery, has squashed some of those reservations.
The video features the film’s director Andy Muschietti as well as some of its young stars talk about the town the film’s set in (Derry), as well the background behind its terrible past.
We also get to see some of the horrific elements on show in the film, and when you combine those with the superb cinematography, it all looks like its come along nicely.
IT is based on one of Stephen King’s most popular novels, and is the first cinematic adaptation since the 1990 telemovie.
Along with IT, King has several more of his works to be adapted in the near future, that include the recently released The Dark Tower (see my review here), the TV series The Mist (screening on Netflix now), the upcoming TV series Mr Mercedes, and the upcoming Netflix exclusive film, Gerald’s Game.
He’s not the most popular horror-writer of all time for no reason, after all.
The film releases across cinemas on 7 September 2017.
