‘Holmes & Watson’ Trailer Sees an Idiotic Take on the Iconic Detective

Holmes and Watson trailer

Comedic geniuses Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly reunite to play the bumbling versions of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson in Holmes & Watson.

The hilarious duo is back together on screen since their last outings in Step Brothers (2008) and Talladega Nights (2006).

Those films became instant classics, mainly due to the duo’s funny on-screen dynamic.

After a long wait between appearing in a film together, fans can finally rejoice to see the two comedians back together again in Holmes & Watson.

The film follows the classic detective team of Sherlock Holmes (Ferrell) and Doctor Watson (Reilly) as they go about solving crimes for the royal British crown.

Of course, hilarity ensues when these two bumbling fools are on the case.

The first trailer gives us a good look at the type of humour we can expect from the film, which, as expected, tends to lean more on the slapstick side.

The film doesn’t look like it will reach the same levels of entertainment as their past two paired films, however, I have a feeling the best jokes are being saved for the final product.

Holmes & Watson also stars Ralph Fiennes, Steve Coogan, Rebecca Hall and Kelly Macdonald, and is directed by Etan Cohen.

It’s due to hit cinemas on 26 December 2018.
