Gina Carano Kicks Ass in the ‘Taken’-esque Film ‘Daughter of the Wolf’

Former MMA fighter turned actress, Gina Carano, is on a mission to rescue her kidnapped son in the new action feature Daughter Of The Wolf.

Written by Nika Agiashvili and directed by David Hackl, the film follows Gina Carano’s military specialist as she hunts down the men responsible for taking her son hostage in the frozen wilderness.

This has a very B-movie feel and look, with Carano continuing down the direct-to-DVD path she’s been cultivating over the past few years with films such as Extraction (2015), Scorched Earth (2018) and Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016).

As is often the case with these types of films, the trailer gives away much of the plot but also shows plenty of gun battles and fisticuffs, which is exactly what you want from this type of release.

The addition of Academy Award Winner Richard Dreyfuss hamming it up as the man responsible for kidnapping Carano’s daughter is a great get, with Daughter of the Wolf shaping up as a dumb, yet fun action thriller.

Daughter of the Wolf will be in cinemas from 2 August 2019.
