Disney has today unveiled the newest trailer for the upcoming film Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.
This latest trailer gives us the best look at the film’s plot so far, as well as giving as an introduction into the main characters of the film, that include Watson’s Belle, Stevens’ Beast, Luke Evans’ Gaston and Kevin Kline’s Maurice.
The trailer also serves to showcase some of the spectacular special effects used to create the characters in the film, and it appears the visual effects team behind the movie have done an amazing job.
Beauty and the Beast is the live adaptation of Disney’s own original 1991 classic animation, and is part of a live-action remake series that Disney is developing in the years to come.
It could just be me, but it seems like there’s an element of creepiness in seeing the characters and themes in this film come to life, as opposed to the animated version.
The Jungle Book (2016) seemed to work on that front, though I wasn’t a big fan of the film for other reasons, so we’ll just see how this one pans out.
Beauty and the Beast hits Australian cinemas from 23 March 2017.
