Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua have reunited for their first ever sequel together in the action packed trailer for The Equalizer 2.
Washington plays former agent turned professional hitman Robert McCall, as he seeks revenge on a group of people that murdered his friend.
I thought the first film was underrated after its release in 2014, receiving favourable reviews, but not overwhelmingly favourable.
The sequel looks to continue on with its trendy violence and Denzel Washington looks as cool, calm and collected in this role just as he did the first time around.
The Equalizer 2 follows a fairly generic plot, but the violent action sequences look to be on point, which is all we can hope for with a film like this.
This is the fourth time Washington and Fuqua have worked together, after having previously collaborated on Training Day (2001) and The Magnificent Seven (2016), and of course the first Equalizer film.
Fuqua does action really and it looks like we’re in for a treat here.
The film co-stars Pedro Pascal, Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo, and releases in the US on 20 July 2018.
