Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani Star in New Buddy-Comedy ‘Stuber’

Kumail Nanjiani movies

There a laughs aplenty in the trailer for the new buddy action-comedy film Stuber starring Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani.

An Uber driver (Nanjiani) picks up a police detective (Bautista) who takes him along on a wild and violent police case.

Whether or not the detective is who he says he is, however, seems up for debate in this hilarious new trailer.

Stuber is a new action-comedy buddy-movie featuring the somewhat unlikely pairing of Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, though the casting couldn’t be better.

The film feels pretty textbook as far as these types of comedies go, with character types we’ve seen many times before.

Nevertheless, there are some genuine laughs to be had here.

Stuber is directed by Michael Dowse, who directed the underrated Seann William Scott comedy Goon (2011).

Nanjiani is great value in all of his comedic roles and we’ve just recently seen Bautista break out into comedy, mostly with his performance as Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy (2014-) films as well as Avengers: Infinity War (2018).

He also has a knack for comedy, so this film could potentially further his skill-set and recognition as a mainstream movie star.

Stuber co-stars Karen Gillan and Iko Uwais and is due for release on 12 July 2019.
