R.L. Stine’s famous creatures come to life on Halloween in the upcoming family comedy adventure film Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween.
While celebrating Halloween, three young friends discover a manuscript in an abandoned house by the author R.L. Stine and unknowingly release his monstrous creations into the world.
The sequel to the Jack Black-starring 2015 film Goosebumps follows a similar premise, that sees a group of friends under attack from Stine’s creatures.
The film looks like it features a lot of entertainment value for its target pre-teen audience.
One could say that it’s even somewhat scary when you look at Stine’s creations in moveable, live format (Slappy the ventriloquist doll is nightmare fuel – let’s be honest).
It seems to be a fitting and almost prerequisite Halloween movie for kids, due out for release close to the famed holiday.
Adults will need to go into this one suspending their disbelief and accepting it for what it is, as I can’t imagine there’s much in it for them.
Young kids should have a great time with it, though.
Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Madison Iseman, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Caleel Harris, Chris Parnell, and Ken Jeong.
Expect it in cinemas on 25 October 2018.
