Two New Clips from Upcoming ‘Venom’ Movie Released

Two cool new movie clips from Ruben Fleischer’s Venom movie have dropped, featuring Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed in key roles.

The first clip, ‘Ambushing Drake’, sees reporter Eddie Brock (Hardy) confront Dr. Carlton Drake (Ahmed, the film’s key antagonist) about his organisation’s experiments on “vulnerable” people, a lot of which end up dying.

Drake foreseeably cuts the interview short, followed with a sly threat to Brock.

The experiments are referring to pharmaceutical testing done by Drake’s ‘Life Foundation’, which what we’ve seen from the film’s trailers so far, involves the organisation’s use of the alien ‘symbiote’ to enhance its test subjects.

The ‘symbiote’ will later bond to Eddie Brock to create the anti-hero known as Venom.

The film’s second clip, ‘To Protect and Sever’, sees Hardy’s Eddie Brock in full Venom mode, beating up an entire SWAT team.

We get to see how Brock activates his Venom transformation and the imposing beast in action.

Venom appears to be impervious to bullets and smoke grenades and can scale multiple floors in one single leap.

It’s a small indication of character’s powers, more of which we’ll see come 4 October when the film releases.

Venom looks like a lot of fun, and a superhero film that won’t take itself too seriously.

That could work either for or against it, however, if the correct balance can’t be found.

It’s in good hands with Zombieland (2009) director Ruben Fleischer though.

The film also stars Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson, and if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the film’s trailer here after the above clips.
