Check out the Avengers: Endgame Honest Trailer for a perspective on some of the sillier aspects of the world’s most popular film.
The Endgame Honest Trailer highlights some of the ridiculous sub-plots and character arcs of the film, many of which you may not have picked up on initially.
For instance, did you realise the screenwriters explain the time-travel subplot about 5 different times, with each time sounding less convoluted than before?
That’s just one of the ‘flaws’ that the Honest Trailers team have looked back on to ridicule.
While many may not consider that a flaw so to speak, that aspect (amongst others) dumb the film down considerably.
Avengers: Endgame recently went on to become the highest-grossing movie of all time, narrowly passing James Cameron’s Avatar (2009), which has held the record for at least a decade.
Marvel and its parent company, Disney, have earned this accolade after 10 years and more than 20 movies in the buildup to Endgame, but if you ask me, I think Cameron’s achievement still garners more respect, considering it only took him one film to get there.
Nevertheless, Endgame was a satisfying conclusion to the decade-long story-arc that Marvel started planting the seeds for with 2008’s Iron Man.
I thought Infinity War (2018) was better than Endgame, though that had more Thanos in it and I’m biased towards that character.
Popular films make great material for the Honest Trailers team and this one is no exception.
