The Inaugural Australian 70mm Film Festival Hits Sun Theatre

Yarraville’s Sun Theatre is set to host a week-long film festival showcasing 7 epic films shot in glorious 70mm film, in the lead-up to the release of Murder on the Orient Express.

The Sun Theatre is a vintage inspired cinema in the heart of Melbourne’s inner-west, with it’s old-school decor making for an unforgettable movie watching experience.

The theatre has been host to many a 70mm release in the past, with last year’s The Hateful Eight (2015) becoming the most successful film in Sun Theatre’s history, still screening to this day, in its 21st month!

Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk (2017) also recently featured there and was an audience favourite.

Both Dunkirk and The Hateful Eight will be screening as part of the festival, along with the all-time classic epic film Lawrence of Arabia (1962), which just got a brand new 70mm print.

You can see all 7 films for $100 with a festival pass, or purchase tickets individually.
